Y’all, I’m sick and tired of writing about RFK Jr. and the damage he’s causing. Yet again, he’s breaking promises and turning our nation’s public health system into a circus.
This time, like so many times before, he has taken steps to undermine vaccine science and public health policy.
In a drastic and sweeping move, RFK Jr. and his brain worm decided to fire the entire 17-member Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). Yes, technically HHS has the authority to replace committee members, but firing all of them at once is a blatant political stunt.
RFK Jr. is the antonym of “scientist.” The man has built a political career on fear, misinformation, and quackery. Every action he has taken as Secretary of Health and Human Services has served his personal agenda at the expense of our health — especially the health of children.
One of the most infuriating elements of this story is the role played by U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana. As a physician himself, Cassidy was initially hesitant to confirm RFK Jr. for this post, citing concerns about his qualifications. One of the key promises RFK Jr. made to earn Cassidy’s confirmation vote was that he would not interfere with ACIP.
So here we are, with two possibilities:
RFK Jr. broke his promise.
Senator Cassidy knew this would happen and allowed RFK Jr. to make a public, false promise to shield himself from professional backlash.
Either way, a Republican acted without integrity. Shocking.
We can’t afford to be numb to this anymore. The people making decisions about our children’s health are no longer operating in good faith. This isn’t a partisan issue—it’s a public health emergency. The ACIP has protected generations of Americans from preventable diseases. Gutting it isn’t reform; it’s sabotage. If we don’t speak up now, we’ll all pay the price later — especially our kids.
I am so angry about this. I am a retired Nurse practitioner in Hilton Head SC for the last 26 years. I worked in Jasper County Medicaide clinics , and raised my kids here. I saw you on You Tube. I am very excited about your candidacy. I have been writing and writing to to legislators to no avail.
I would love to help with your campaign, I need to channel this anger into positive action. Good luck.
